The Strada Statale 64 (SS64) is an Italian State Street, 1928 between Pontepetri and Ferrara has been set. The section Bologna - Ferrara goes back to a section of the Strada nazionale 56 established in 1923. Because of its leadership over the Passo del Cerreto, the SS64 received the title "Porrettana" . In 1934 it was led from Venturia over the Passo di Collina (which it now crosses under by a tunnel) to Pistoia and the original route became the provincial road. This section became a state road again in 1971. He got the number 632 and the title "Traversa di Pracchia". In 2001 it was again downgraded to Provinzialstraße. In its course south of Bologna, the SS64 was placed on bypass roads and thus runs through many tunnels in the section where it crosses the Apennines .
