The Strada Statale 516 Piovese (abbreviation: SS 516 ) is an Italian state road in northern Italy that leads from Padua to the Adriatic Sea . It lies entirely in the Italian region of Veneto and is 46.4 km long. The SS 516 has an important task as it connects the SS 309, Chioggia and the sea with Padua.

Between Padua and Piove di Sacco, the road is managed by ANAS , a total of 21.803 km. The rest was handed over to the regions a few years ago, the company Veneto Strade SpA. has since managed the section with a length of 29.220 km. In this section it is referred to as SR 516 (Strada Regionale 516 Piovese).

course

The route begins in Padua and goes southeast first to Legnaro and then reaches Piove di Sacco at km 17.4. The route is flat and straight and runs in the Po Valley .

One section of the route then continues over the Brenta River to the SS 309 , into which it then joins.

The SS 516 runs south from Piove di Sacco and passes Pontelongo and Pegolotte . Then it crosses the Adige and passes the village of Cavarzare . After 46 km the SS 516 has reached Adria.
