Coyotes is a melodic hardcore / metalcore band from Wuppertal, founded in 2014 .
history
The band, which was founded in 2014 by the musicians of the band April Uprising in Wuppertal, began to work on this music project in 2012. Material was written and recorded at Aljoscha Sieg in the Pitchback Studios. However, the recording process of the debut album took more than a year, which was due to several injuries, as well as the band development and the artistic discovery of the musicians.
The debut album, which is called Only To Call It Home , was first released on its own at the end of 2014. Based on a recommendation, the Hanover- based label Swell Creek Records came across the band and signed them. The album was reissued through the label.
In July 2015 the band played three shows with Iwrestledabearonce , Texas in July and Vitja in Stuttgart , Nuremberg and Dessau . From May 12th to 25th, 2016, the group toured internationally for the first time in support of Annisokay , Polar and The Word Alive . The concerts of the tour took place in Italy , France , Austria , Belgium as well as in Switzerland and the Netherlands .
style
The band's music can be described as hardcore , metalcore or post-hardcore , which can be compared to groups like Thrice , Cro-Mags or August Burns Red . Sebastian Wahle from Ox-Fanzine describes the group as a "varied version of The Ghost Inside " and credits the band with being musically influenced by the hardcore band Gallows . According to Metal.de , the group is also influenced by While She Sleeps on a musical level. Coyotes, the critic writes, process two main facets in their music, metalcore and the use of choirs and melodies, which are brought about by the use of synthesizers or piano . Pascal Irmer from FUZE Magazine describes the music of Coyotes as "varied metalcore", with deposits from Southern Rock , which reminds of Dead and Divine , Every Time I Die , but also of Oh, Sleeper and Oceana.
The musicians mainly deal with socially critical issues in the lyrics.
The singer of the band, Boris "Bobby" Alexander Stein, became known to a wider audience in 2016 through the program " The Voice of Germany ". He made it to the finals in Yvonne Catterfeld's team .
