action

In the Wild West, a young man rides west alone. It is about the 16-year-old Scottish nobleman Jay Cavendish, who fell in love with the farm laborer's daughter Rose Ross in his home country, but who did not develop the same feelings for the younger Jay. When his uncle Jay was caught in the Ross' house, there was a brawl with Rose's father John, in which Jay's uncle died unhappily. Rose and her father then fled to North America. Jay travels afterwards to find his love again.

In the forests of the lawless West, Jay meets Silas, a bounty hunter and former gang member who is now responsible for law and order in the West on his own. For money, Silas Jays takes over protection in the search for Rose. While stopping at a trading post, Silas and another bounty hunter - unlike Jay - notice that there is a poster outside the door with a high bounty of $ 2,000 on John and Rose Ross. Silas thinks that Jay could lead him to the two of them. In a shooting at the trading post, Jay kills a young woman to protect Silas and is forced to discover that he killed a mother of two.

After a few more incidents, the two meet Silas' former gang leader Payne, who tries to get information about the whereabouts of the Ross from the two with the help of alcohol. Silas warns Jay that he should return home if he really loves Rose. It turns out that the two children of the killed mother were taken away by the bounty hunters around Payne.

Rose lives with her partner, the Indian Kotori, and her father in a log cabin nearby, of which the rest of the people involved soon learn. To protect Rose and Jay, Silas ties Jay to a tree and runs to the Ross' log cabin to warn the residents. But the house is already under the surveillance of the bounty hunter from the trading post who shot Rose's father and shoots Silas. Payne then shoots the bounty hunter and his gang begins to storm the log cabin, which Rose and Kotori fiercely defend. Jay, who was able to free himself from the shackles, also rushes to the log cabin, but is fatally wounded shortly after entering it by Rose, who does not recognize him.

In the further course of the showdown, almost everyone involved is killed. Shortly before Jay's death, he is recognized by Rose. In the end, only Rose and Silas survive the massacre. He moves in with her and they take in the children of the mother who was killed by Jay at the trading post.
