New York is a 1968 magazine that was developed by Milton Glaser and Clay Felker in and for New York City . The magazine was published weekly until March 2014 and since then bi-weekly.

history

New York emerged from a Sunday supplement of the New York Herald Tribune that had been published since 1964 . In the first few years authors such as Tom Wolfe , Nicholas Pileggi and Gloria Steinem wrote for the paper. In 1971 the feminist magazine Ms. , which later appeared independently, was added as a supplement. In 1976 Rupert Murdoch bought New York , in 1991 he sold it on. In 2003 Bruce Wasserstein acquired the magazine for $ 55 million. Adam Moss has been editor-in-chief since 2004 .
