The Ghost Inside is a corporation founded in 2008 Melodic Hardcore - band from Los Angeles .

history

The Ghost Inside was founded in 2004 in the Californian metropolis of Los Angeles under the name A Dying Dream and is currently under contract with Epitaph Records , where groups such as Suffokate and Blind Witness were also hired until 2012 .

In 2006, Now or Never, the debut EP was released, still under the founding name. The debut album Fury and the Fallen Ones followed on April 15, 2008. Chris Blair of As Blood Runs Black is guest vocalist on the opener Provoke . In the same year the group toured as part of the Impericon Never Say Die! Tour together with As Blood Runs Black, Iwrestledabearonce , Horse the Band and Oceano through Europe . The Ghost Inside also supported Bring Me the Horizon on their Suicide Season promotional tour in 2008.

The follow-up album Returners was released on July 8, 2010. In the song Chrono Matt Bruso ( Bury Your Dead ) acts as a guest musician. Returners landed at number 12 on the Billboard Heatseekers charts and at number 49 on the independent charts, where the album could last a week.

Andrew Tkaczyk has been the group's new drummer since 2011 after KC Stockbridge left the group. Tkaczyk was previously active on For the Fallen Dreams . In July 2011 The Ghost Inside played at the With Full Force Festival with groups such as Cancer Bats , Hatebreed , Bullet for My Valentine , Emil Bulls and Protest the Hero . Another European tour follows as part of the Eastpak Antidote Tour , this time with A Day to Remember , August Burns Red and Living With Lions .

After the success of Returners , the now third studio album, Get What You Give, followed in mid-2012, which was produced by, among others, the singer of the well-known post-hardcore group A Day to Remember Jeremy McKinnon. This also took over numerous second tracks of the clean singing. With Engine 45 , The Ghost Inside released the album's first music video.

The band then toured Europe together with Deez Nuts , Stray from the Path and Devil in Me. 2013 The Ghost Inside played at the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals .

On September 8, 2014, Epitaph Records released the song Avalanche, the first single from the upcoming album. In January 2014 it was announced that the band was working on their fourth studio album. Eight days later it was announced that the album would be called Dear Youth and that it would be released worldwide on November 17, 2014 via Epitaph Records . In addition, the second single, Dear Youth (Day 52) , was presented and the album was released for pre-order. In November and December 2014, the group toured the United States as co-headliners with Every Time I Die . They are accompanied by Hundredth , Architects and Backtrack . On January 9, 2015, the group announced that they had split up with their guitarist Aaron Brooks. On November 19, 2015, the band was involved in a traffic accident near El Paso , Texas, in which the tour bus crashed into a truck. The two drivers of the vehicles were killed. The band and the crew survived with injuries of varying severity. The Locals Only Tour was then canceled. Drummer Tkaczyk lost a leg and guitarist Johnson two toes as a result of the devastating accident. Participation in the Big Ass Tour with The Amity Affliction , A Day to Remember and Motionless in White in Australia was also affected by the cancellation. Epitaph Records , the band's record label, announced that all proceeds from the band's records will be given to the musicians. Many musicians also agreed to support the group. Scott Vogel from the hardcore band Terror , who had a bad relationship with The Ghost Inside in the past, was dismayed and expressed his condolences.

On March 24, 2016, Chris Davis, a second guitarist, was added to the group. Davis was previously active in the now-defunct metalcore band Texas in July . Just a few days earlier, The Ghost Inside were announced as the first band for the Warped Tour 2017 .

The band's first and only comeback show in mainland Europe was announced as headlining the 27th Full Force in June 2020, which had to be canceled due to the corona crisis. The Ghost Inside released the new single Aftermath on April 22nd, 2020 and announced their comeback album The Ghost Inside for June 5th.

On June 6, 2020, the band split from their bassist Jim Riley, one day after accusations of racism were raised against him and other musicians spoke out about it.
