Carapelle is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6573 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Foggia in Apulia . The municipality is located about 16 kilometers southeast of Foggia on the Carapelle river of the same name .

history

Carapelle is more recent. In 1774 a castle was built by Ferdinand IV . Finally, the former part of today's neighboring municipality Orta Nova became an independent municipality in 1958.

traffic

Strada Statale 16 Adriatica runs through the municipality . A few kilometers to the north, the A14 autostrada from Bologna crosses the Adriatic coast towards Bari and Taranto .
