Ascoli Satriano is an Italian city in Apulia . It belongs to the province of Foggia and has 6,102 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Ascoli is best known for a battle in which the Molossian king Pyrrhus in 279 BC. BC won his proverbial Pyrrhic victory ( Battle of Asculum ). In the 9th century the city was besieged and conquered by the Saracens.

The neighboring communities are Candela , Castelluccio dei Sauri , Cerignola , Deliceto , Foggia , Lavello ( PZ ), Melfi (PZ), Ordona , Orta Nova and Stornarella .
