Monteleone di Puglia is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Foggia in Apulia . The municipality borders the province of Avellino and the Campania region . The municipality was part of the Comunità Montana dei Monti Dauni Meridionali . The municipality is located about 40 kilometers southwest of Foggia and about 40 kilometers east of Benevento .
