Rodi Garganico

Rodi Garganico is a south-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3571 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Foggia in Apulia . The municipality is located about 59 kilometers northeast of Foggia on the edge of the Gargano National Park . The place is a lido on the Adriatic coast . Rodi Garganico is also part of the Comunità montana del Gargano .

history

The narrow coastal strip that represents today's municipality has been secured since pre-Christian times, from 800 BC. BC, populated. Around 485 AD, Rodi Garganico was destroyed by the Goths and rebuilt in 553. In 1461 the village came under the rule of Aragon.

Strada Statale 89 Garganica runs along the Garganic Adriatic coast from San Severo to Foggia through the municipality.
