Terror is an American band from Los Angeles , founded in 2002, that combines hardcore with metal influences. The band has been successful to this day; The second studio album One with the Underdogs was sold over 40,000 times, the third album Always the Hard Way reached number 10 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers Charts.

history

Founded in 2002, the band soon organized small tours through the USA and Canada, on which they also appeared as the opening act for Eighteen Visions and Throwdown .

In October 2003, the debut album Lowest of the Low was released via Bridge Nine Records , which was followed by another tour.

The long-standing friendship with the record label Trustkill Records finally led to the signing of a record deal. The second studio album One with the Underdogs was released in the summer of 2004. It also features Hatebreeds Jamey Jasta and Madball's Freddy Cricien. In the fall of 2004, Terror toured the US with Hatebreed, Sick of It All and Full Blown Chaos before traveling to Australia and New Zealand and coming to Europe with Agnostic Front in the spring .

After further gigs in the US and Canada (including Converge , Comeback Kid and Shadows Fall ), guitarist Frank Novinec left in March 2006 to join Hatebreed. In May 2006 Terror were back on tour in Europe with Chimaira , Unearth , All That Remains and Madball. After the third studio album Always the Hard Way and the DVD The Living Proof were released in July , the band went with u. a. In Flames , Trivium and Cannibal Corpse on the Sounds of the Underground tour. What followed were the Sanctity of Brothers tour through the USA and the European Persistance tour through Europe. After further tours in the USA (including with All Shall Perish ) and Europe, Terror recorded the EP Rhythm Amongst the Chaos in 2007 .

After the band toured with Kataklysm and Chimaira, the album The Damned, The Shamed was released under Century Media in May 2008 . From October 16 to November 16, 2008 Terror were on tour through the USA with On Broken Wings , As Blood Runs Black , The Ghost Inside and Blood Stands Still.

In addition to his main band, Doug Weber played with First Blood together with former bassist Carl Schwartz.

On May 19, 2015, the first track The Solution , the album The 25th Hour was pre-released as a single by Victory Records.

style

Terror play old school hardcore with an aggressive, metallic sound and influences from metal and metalcore .

In a text about the band on the MySpace page you can read:

"Terror have cemented their status in great stone letters as guardians of old school hardcore ethics while winning the pit fervor of the new generation of metal and hardcore fans."

"Terror cemented their status as custodians of the old-school hardcore ethic in great stone letters while gaining the passion of the new generation of metal and hardcore fans."

-

Lyrically they are often very aggressive and direct. But terror is not very political; her texts move more on the interpersonal level. However, it becomes clear what Scott Vogel thinks of right-wing extremists, e.g. B. through announcements on the stage like: "If a nazi walks through that door, beat the shit out of him."
