history
The place was first mentioned in writing on October 12, 1285. In a treaty from that day, the Bohemian King Wenzel II. Zawisch von Falkenstein transferred several cities. Benesch von Choltitz appears here as a witness . At the end of the 14th century, the town was sold by the von Choltic family and subsequently passed to several families who also referred to themselves as von Choltic . The other owners of the land and the castle, which was mentioned in the 16th century, were the Trčka von Lípa family, the Gersdorff family (Gerštorfové) and the Counts of Thun and Hohenstein .
