history

The first written mention of Hlávecko took place in 1228 in a certificate from King Ottokar I Přemysl for the donation of the village to the Opatowitz monastery . A little later, Sezema de Horupnik ( Sezima z Hořepníka ) acquired the village and added it to the Hradišťko Castle. Since then the village has been known as Hlavečník . After Sezema's death, the rule of Dědoch von Třebelovice, known as von Žiželice, fell to King Wenceslaus II in 1299. Lords Žiželický von Žiželice held the property until 1324, after which Peter von Rosenberg , Heinrich von Wartenberg and the Counts von Waldstein followed . In 1517 Zdeniek Lev von Rosental acquired the rule of Hradišťko-Žiželice. Johann von Pernstein , who bought the estate in 1533, sold it to King Ferdinand I in 1543 , who united it with the Chlumetz estate in 1547 . King Matthias signed the Chlumetz and Žiželice lords in 1611 for loyal service in obtaining the Bohemian crown to Wenceslaus Count Kinsky von Wchinitz and Tettau , who united the two lords. During the Thirty Years' War, the village of twelve chaluppets was probably burned down by Swedish troops. According to the local history, the reconstruction should have taken place in a new place, according to tradition, the old village should have stood in the Na Topolské corridor .

In 1833 the village of Hlawečnik , located in the Bijov district , consisted of 47 houses in which 364 people, including six Protestant families, lived. The main source of income was agriculture, which was not very productive because of the predominantly sandy soils. There was a school, an inn and a hunter's house in the village. The Catholic parish was Žiželitz , the Protestant pastorate was in Krakowan . The Catholics buried their dead in the Rasoch cemetery . Until the middle of the 19th century, Hlawečnik remained subject to the Fideikommissherrschaft Chlumetz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hlavečník formed from 1849 a municipality in the judicial district of Chlumetz . After the establishment of the school in Rasochy , teaching in Hlavečník was discontinued. From 1868 the village belonged to the Neubydžow district . In 1869 Hlavečník had 513 inhabitants and consisted of 77 houses. In 1879 a new one-class village school was built in Hlavečník, which was gradually expanded to three classes. In 1900 there were 603 people in Hlavečník, in 1910 there were 620. The school burned down on August 2, 1924, after which it was rebuilt for 740,000 crowns and was named Masaryk School. The rejection of the application to open it as a community school led to a persistent dispute between the municipality and the school authorities, so that the new school building remained unused for twelve years. In the 1930s, a stone jug was found with a treasure trove of coins from Prague and Meissen groschen. In 1930 Hlavečník had 557 inhabitants and consisted of 131 houses. At that time, many of the residents worked in the national stud in Kladruby nad Labem and its branch at Franzenshof near Selmice . The 1935 amendment to the School Act enabled the Hlavečník Citizens' School to start teaching at the beginning of 1936. In 1949 the community was assigned to the Okres Přelouč, since 1960 Hlavečník belongs to the Okres Pardubice .

In the 2001 census, 237 people lived in the community's 138 houses. Today there is a nine-grade elementary school and a kindergarten in Hlavečník.
