history
Újezd is a foundation of the Opatowitz Benedictine monastery . It is assumed that the pond keeper's house and later the village were built on the side of the Újezdský rybník. After the monastery was looted and burned down by the Hussites under Diviš Bořek von Miletínek in 1421 , the latter seized the extensive possessions.
The first documentary mention of Újezd took place in 1436, when King Sigismund transferred large parts of the former monastery property to Diviš Bořek, who formed the Kunburg domain . At the end of the 15th century Wilhelm von Pernstein acquired the dominions of Pardubitz and Kunburg and united them. Wilhelm von Pernstein bequeathed his Bohemian goods to his younger son Vojtěch in 1521 , after his death they passed to his brother Johann in 1534 . In 1548 he left his son Jaroslav in high debt. On March 21, 1560 Jaroslav von Pernstein sold the entire rule of Pardubitz to King Ferdinand I. His successor Maximilian II transferred the administration of the royal lords to the court chamber . This let the rule of Pardubitz reorganize through a system of 24 Rychta ( Scholtiseien ); in 1588 the Rychtář in Dříteč exercised the minor jurisdiction for Újezd. In the land register of 1588, 11 properties are listed for Újezd; the Rybník Oujezdský was one of 56 stately ponds.
In 1835 the village of Augezd in the Chrudim district consisted of 20 houses in which 150 people lived. The parish was Dřitsch . Until the middle of the 19th century Augezd remained subordinate to the Imperial and Royal Chamber of Commerce Pardubitz.
After the abolition of patrimonial Oujezd formed from 1849 with the district Zástava a municipality in the judicial district of Pardubice . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the political district of Pardubitz . In 1869 Oujezd had 159 inhabitants and consisted of 26 houses. On April 24, 1884, five houses including the barns burned down. At the end of the 19th century, a wooden windmill with a house was built on the U mlýna hill . In 1897 the district road from Bohumileč to Borek was built. In 1900 173 people lived in the village, in 1910 there were 186. Since 1924 Újezd has been used as the official municipality name. In 1930 Újezd had 162 inhabitants. In 1949 Újezd was assigned to the Okres Pardubice-okolí. Since 1960 the community has belonged again to Okres Pardubice . On April 30, 1976 it was incorporated into Rokytno . The windmill was sold and moved to Černilov in the 1980s . Újezd and Zástava broke away from Rokytno on November 24, 1990 and formed the municipality of Újezd. On June 1, 1993, the municipality name was changed to Újezd u Sezemic . In the 2001 census, 102 people lived in the 28 houses of Újezd u Sezemic. The municipality had 115 inhabitants in 2018, 102 of them lived in Újezd u Sezemic and 13 in Zástava.
