The village was built on an old trade route that was already marked on the Claudian map of 1518. For centuries the village belonged to the Zámrsk domain. At the time of Maria Theresa , the road was expanded to become the main connection between Olomouc , Königgrätz and Josefstadt

In 1835 the village Jaroslau or Jaroslaw , located in the Chrudim district on Königgrätzer Poststrasse, consisted of 83 houses in which 480 people, including four Protestant families, lived. In the place there was a forester's house, an inn, a beer tavern and a mill. The parish was Radhoscht . Jaroslaw remained subordinate to the allodial property Zamrsk until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Jaroslav formed a community in the judicial district of Hohenmauth from 1849 . From 1868 the community belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . In 1869 Jaroslav had 360 inhabitants and consisted of 66 houses. In 1900 300 people lived in the village, in 1910 there were 323. In 1930 Jaroslav had 319 inhabitants. In 1949 Jaroslav was assigned to the Okres Holice. The municipal office was established in 1954 as part of Aktion Z. The mill was demolished in 1956 for a curve straightening of the state road I / 35. Since 1960 the municipality belongs to the Okres Pardubice .
