history
The village arose on the Strenitzer Landessteig ( Trstenická stezka ), an important trade route between Bohemia and Moravia . The first written mention of Stradouň took place in 1160, when Vladike Štěpán von Stradouň donated his customs revenue to the Benedictine monastery Podlažice . In 1304 Stradouň was one of the towns and villages that King Wenceslaus II gave to the Königsaal monastery as a donation. After the end of the Hussite Wars , King Sigismund left the village to Diviš Bořek von Miletínek . Later the royal town of Hohenmauth acquired the Stradouň estate. Since the city had supported the Bohemian class uprising in 1547 , King Ferdinand I confiscated their goods in 1548. He sold Stradouň to Diviš Slavata of Chlum and Koschumberg , who incorporated the estate of his dominion Chroustovice .
In 1835, the village of Stradaun , located in Chrudimer Kreis on Chrudimer Poststrasse, comprised 94 houses in which 449 people lived. Five of the houses belonged to the city of Hohenmauth. Five Protestant families lived on the Chraustowitz part. There was a retreat and a mill in the village. The Catholic parish was Wratzlaw . Until the middle of the 19th century, Stradaun remained subject to the allodial rule of Chraustowitz.
After the abolition of patrimonial Stradouň formed from 1849 a municipality in the judicial district Hohenmauth . From 1868 the community belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . From 1961 the community belonged to Okres Chrudim . Ostrov was incorporated between 1985 and 1991 . On January 1, 2007 the community moved to the Okres Ústí nad Orlicí .
