Pastviny (German Weiden ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers east of Žamberk in the Eagle Mountains and belongs to the Okres Ústí nad Orlicí .

Pastviny is located on the left bank of the Pastviny reservoir, where the Wild Eagle is dammed. State road 312 between Žamberk and Králíky runs over the dam and through the village .

Neighboring towns are Zbudov and Lhotka in the north, Orlička and České Petrovice in the northeast, Vitanov and Vlčkovice in the east, Studené in the southeast, Údolí, Vejrov and Nekoř in the south, Líšnice and Polska in the southwest, Zakopánka in the west and Kunvald in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Pastviny comes from 1543.

Between 1933 and 1938 the Pastviny dam was built, flooding 63 houses in the village. In the years 1934 to 1936 the viaduct was built over the valley of the Wild Eagle, over which the road crosses the dam.

The reservoir serves as flood protection and is used for recreational purposes. In Pastviny there are three campsites and several holiday settlements.
