The Wilde Adler , also called Erlitz in the upper reaches , ( Czech Divoká Orlice, Polish Dzika Orlica ) rises in the Topielsko and Czarne Bagno upland moors on the western slope of the Biesiec (Dead Man) in the Góry Bystrzyckie ( Habelschwerdter Mountains ) in Poland . The source is located at a height of 800 meters above sea level . From the confluence with the Černý potok (Schwarzbach) it forms the Polish-Czech state border over a length of 26 kilometers and separates the Orlické hory ( Eagle Mountains ) from the Góry Bystrzyckie . The border area ends at the Zemská brána protected area . Below Klášterec nad Orlicí and Lhotka is the Pastviny water reservoir with an equalization basin at Nekoř . The river flows further past Líšnice , Žamberk (Senftenberg), Helvíkovice (Helkowitz) and Kostelec nad Orlicí (Adlerkosteletz). The section between Litice nad Orlicí and Potštejn forms a valley with numerous rapids called Litický oblouk . Below Doudleby and Kostelec nad Orlicí the river calms down. At the narrowest point it has an average flow velocity of 11.5 m³ / s. Larger inflows from right Rokytenka , Zdobnice , Bělá , Olešnický Potok and Bahnice left hand Brodec .

At Albrechtice nad Orlicí (Albrechtsdorf) the wild eagle unites with the silent eagle to form the eagle . Its total length is 99.3 kilometers.
