history

The districts of the community are documented in the 13th and 14th centuries. They were mainly created during the colonization of the area by the Saxon noble family von Brandis.

Between 1842 and 1845 took place in the Valley of the Silent Eagle of the construction of the railway from Prague to Olomouc and the monolayer Luh and Bezpráví emerged. The independent communities Dobrá Voda, Rviště and Říčky existed since the replacement of patrimonial rule in 1848. With the exception of Rozsochy 2.díl, which belonged to the judicial district Kostelec nad Orlicí in the district administration Rychnov nad Kněžnou , all other parts of today's municipality belonged to the judicial district Ústí nad Orlicí in the Lanškroun district from 1850.

In 1949 Dobrá Voda was incorporated into Rviště. In 1960 Říčky was also incorporated. The incorporated villages developed resistance to the community name Rviště, because all three places were about equal. This ultimately led to the community being given the neutral name Orlické Podhůří (= Eagle Mountain Foreland) on February 16, 1961 .

In 1961 the two parts of Rozsocha were also united. Until then, Rozsocha 1.díl (today Horní Rozsocha) belonged to Rviště, while Rozsocha 2.díl (today Dolní Rozsocha) was a district of Velká Skrovnice .

Luh is the only part of the municipality on the left side of the river, it belonged together with Perná to the municipality of Sudislav nad Orlicí until 1949 and then to Rviště until 1960. Bezpráví and Luh were also considered districts until 1980, when they lost this status because they no longer have permanent residents. The seat of the municipal office is in Dobrá Voda.
