history

The first written mention of the village was in 1299 as the possession of the Hradišťko Castle. At least since the middle of the 14th century there was a Vladikensitz in Ugezd . The oldest news about the Church of St. Aegidius comes from 1361, when Oneš and Jan von Ugezd exercised the church patronage jointly with the Vladiken von Klamoš. In 1370 Ješek Diblík von Ugezd is documented as the owner of the estate, between 1412 and 1418 it belonged to the Markvart von Ugezd. In the course of the 15th century the trace of the Vladiken von Ugezd is lost; It is believed that the family acquired the Badra fortress in 1492 and then used the title Báderský of Újezd. The Ugezd estate was merged with the Hradišťko- Žiželice estate .

The subsequent owners of the estate were Heinrich von Wartenberg , the Counts of Waldstein , from 1517 Zdeniek Lev von Rosental and then Wilhelm Kostka von Postupitz , who sold them to Vojtěch von Pernstein in 1521 together with the Chlumetz estate. Johann von Pernstein , who had acquired the dominions in 1533, sold them to King Ferdinand I , who united them in 1547 to form a chamberlain for Chlumetz. In the 16th century, Újezd was united with the village Ostrovnice, which has been documented since 1397; Ostrovnice stretched upstream from Újezd on the left bank of the Babidolský potok. In 1577 Johann von Wchinitz received the rule as a pledge. In 1611, King Matthias signed the Chlumetz Chamber of Commerce to Wenzel Graf Kinsky von Wchinitz and Tettau for loyal services in obtaining the Bohemian Crown. During the uprising of 1618 , the Catholic pastor Mathyas Linzer von Schönwerg, who had been in office since 1606, was expelled from Újezd and a Protestant preacher was appointed. After Count Wenzel Kinsky invaded the parish church of St. Ursula in Chlumetz in 1620 to stop Hussite services, an uprising broke out in the area. The Újezd parish became extinct during the Thirty Years' War and the church became a branch of the Žiželice parish. In the berní rula of 1654 ten farmers and two kötter are reported for Újezd and Ostrovnice. The irregular and concentric village square of Újezd was only built on on two sides. From 1721 the Újezd church belonged to the parish of Vápno. In 1775 there was a great peasant revolt in the Chlumetz rule. A school building was built in 1820.

In 1833, the village of Augezd , located in the Bidschower district , consisted of 31 houses in which 226 people lived. The branch church of St. Aegidius and the school. The parish was Wapno . Until the middle of the 19th century Augezd remained subject to the Fideikommissherrschaft Chlumetz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Oujezd formed a community in the judicial district of Chlumetz from 1849 . From 1868 the village belonged to the Neubydžow district , at the same time Štít was incorporated. In 1869 Oujezd had 298 inhabitants and consisted of 37 houses. In 1900 there were 284 people in Oujezd , in 1910 there were 303. In 1904, Štít broke up and formed its own community. In 1921 the place name was changed to Újezd . In 1930 Újezd had 325 inhabitants and consisted of 57 houses. After the Second World War, the Kinsky counts' large estates were expropriated. In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Přelouč, since 1960 Újezd belongs to the Okres Pardubice . By order of the Local National Committee (MNV), the niche chapel built around 1737 with the portrait of Our Lady was demolished in 1977. On June 1, 1993, the municipality name was changed to Újezd u Přelouče . In the 2001 census, 189 people lived in 67 houses in the community.
