Hrobice ( German Hrobitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers north of the city center of Pardubice and belongs to the Okres Pardubice .
geography
Hrobice is located on the right side of the Elbe in the Pardubická kotlina ( Pardubice Basin ). State road II / 324 between Pardubice and Opatovice nad Labem runs through the village, state road I / 37 runs on the western edge of the village . To the north of the village is the Opatovice power plant. In the south rises the striking Kunětická hora (307 m nm) with the castle of the same name , southwest of the Cháby (229 m nm).
Neighboring towns are Čeperka , Opatovice nad Labem and Vysoká nad Labem in the north, Bukovina nad Labem in the Northeast, Dříteč the east, Dražkov, Němčice and Na Sibiri in the southeast, Ráby and Hradiště na Písku in the south, Srch and Stéblová in the southwest, Dolany in the West and Ždánický Dvůr, Malá Čeperka, Podůlšany and Hrobický Dvůr in the northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1371 as the property of the Opatowitz Benedictine monastery . After the monastery was looted and burned down by the Hussites under Diviš Bořek von Miletínek in 1421 , the latter seized the extensive possessions. In 1436 King Sigismund transferred large parts of the former monastery property to Diviš Bořek, who formed the Kunburg domain from it . At the end of the 15th century Wilhelm von Pernstein acquired the dominions of Pardubitz and Kunburg and united them. Wilhelm von Pernstein had the Velká Čeperka pond built in 1496 and between 1498 and 1521 the Velká strúha was dug to feed the Elbe water into the Pardubice fish ponds. Hrobice was then on the eastern side of the dam of the largest of the Pardubice fish ponds; In the middle of the 16th century, Velká Čeperka was one of the largest ponds in Bohemia with an estimated 1250 hectares of water and was significantly larger than the Rosenberg pond .
In 1521 Wilhelm von Pernstein bequeathed his Bohemian goods to his younger son Vojtěch , after his death in 1534 they fell to his brother Johann . In 1548 Johann von Pernstein left his son Jaroslav in debt. On March 21, 1560 Jaroslav von Pernstein sold the entire rule of Pardubitz to King Ferdinand I. His successor Maximilian II transferred the administration of the royal lords to the court chamber .
In 1835 the village of Hrobitz in the Chrudim district consisted of 15 houses in which 107 people lived. The parish was Dřitsch . Königgrätzer Straße ran across the dam of the Velká Čeperka. Until the middle of the 19th century, Hrobitz remained subordinate to the Imperial and Royal Chamber of Commerce Pardubitz.
After the abolition of patrimonial Hrobice formed from 1849 a municipality in the judicial district of Pardubice . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the political district of Pardubitz . In 1869 Hrobice had 173 inhabitants and consisted of 21 houses. The Velká Čeperka was drained in the second half of the 19th century; the pond was converted into arable land and the Hrobický Dvůr was created. In 1900 there were 191 people living in the village, in 1910 there were 176. In 1930 Hrobice had 148 inhabitants. In 1949 Hrobice was assigned to the Okres Pardubice-okolí. Since 1960 the community has belonged again to Okres Pardubice . In the 2001 census, 187 people lived in the 68 houses in Hrobice.

- Baroch nature reserve , south of the village. The pond and marshland are the best preserved remains of the Velká Čeperka. The Cháby, which rises to the northwest of the Baroch, used to form a large peninsula in the Velká Čeperka.
