history

The forests on the Třebechovická tabule were uninhabited until the beginning of the 12th century and formed the hunting domain of the Přemyslids . The existence of the royal court Chwoyno has been handed down from the year 1139, in the vicinity of which a few small settlements were probably established, which together with the court formed a settlement enclave in the jungle area.

The first documentary mention took place on April 9, 1336 under the name Chvojence Nízké , when King John of Luxembourg the town and the fortress Chvojno with the associated nine villages Albrechtsdorf , Běleč , Bělečko, Ekleinsdorf , Hermansdorf , Chvojence Nízké, Hoděšovice , Tiezmansdorf and Walthersdorf pledged 2000 shock groschen to the brothers Pertholt, Heinrich and Johann von Leipa . There was a festival in the village at that time . An important trail led through the town to Prague. In 1340 Heinrich Pykna von Lichtenburg acquired the Chvojno rule. In 1358 the Chvojenec estate was sold to the Holitz family branch of the Counts von Sternberg , until 1376 the fortress was the seat of Jan Holický von Sternberg. In the course of time, the Counts of Sternberg transferred the management of their Chvojenec property more and more to the Holitz estate . The last owner of the Chvojenec estate, which also included the village of Býš , was Jan the Younger from 1450 to 1464. J. Holický von Sternberg. After that, the estate was completely connected to Holitz. In this context the fortress was given up and left to decay; it was not mentioned afterwards. In 1507 Hynek Bradlecký von Mečkov sold the Holitz estate to Wilhelm von Pernstein , who combined it with his Pardubice rule .

Wilhelm von Pernstein bequeathed his Bohemian goods to his younger son Vojtěch in 1521 , after his death they passed to his brother Johann in 1534 . In 1548 he left his son Jaroslav in high debt. On March 21, 1560 Jaroslav von Pernstein sold the entire rule of Pardubitz to King Ferdinand I. His successor Maximilian II transferred the administration of the royal lords to the court chamber . From 1586 the Rychtář in Býšť exercised the lower jurisdiction over Chvojenec. The forest belt Na království was divided into four guardians, which were managed by seven guardians, including one in Chvojenec. In addition to agriculture, pasture farming on leased Passeken , bird trapping , the gathering of forest fruits and, above all, bad luck were among the sources of income for the residents.

After the Josephinian tolerance patent of 1781, so-called Deists ( blouznivci ) gained significant influence in the area of Rokytno , Býšť and Chvojenec ; 52 families in Rokytno and Chvojenec had committed themselves to this. The Deists did not belong to the recognized churches and rejected baptism, the Ten Commandments and the Christian form of marriage; as they caused great difficulties for the authorities, they soon attacked the sectarians with canes.

In 1835 the village of Chwognetz or Chwogenetz , located in the Chrudim district on Königgrätzer Poststraße, consisted of 76 houses in which 622 people, including a Protestant and a Jewish family, lived. There was a school in the village. The parish was Chwogno . Until the middle of the 19th century Chwognetz remained subordinate to the Imperial and Royal Chamber of Commerce Pardubitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Nízké Chvojence 1849 a municipality in the judicial district Holitz . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district of Pardubice . In 1869 Nízké Chvojence had 697 inhabitants and consisted of 98 houses. In the 1870s the name of the municipality was changed to Chvojence , and the name Chvojenec has been used since the end of the 19th century . In 1865 the industrialist Johann Liebieg acquired the forests on the Hohenbrucker Tafel, from 1884 they belonged to Alexander Margrave von Pallavicini on Jemnice . The voluntary fire brigade was founded in 1886. In 1900, 836 people lived in the village, in 1910 there were 772. After the founding of Czechoslovakia , the forest dominion of the Margrave of Pallavicini was expropriated and divided up in 1921 as part of the land reform. In 1930 Chvojenec had 827 inhabitants. In 1949 Chvojenec was assigned to the Okres Holice. Since 1960 the community has belonged again to Okres Pardubice . At the 2001 census, 586 people lived in Chvojenec's 192 houses.
