history

The Waldhufendorf was probably founded between the second half of the 13th century and the middle of the 14th century during the first German inland colonization . The first documentary mention took place on April 9, 1336 under the name Ekleinsdorf , when King John of Luxembourg the town and the fortress Chvojno with the associated nine villages Albrechtsdorf , Běleč , Bělečko , Ekleinsdorf , Hermansdorf , Chvojence Nízké , Hoděšovice , Tiezmansdorf and Walthersdorf for 2000 Schock Groschen pledged to the brothers Pertholt, Heinrich and Johann von Leipa . Before 1340 Heinrich Pykna von Lichtenburg acquired the Chvojno rule. Since the middle of the 14th century, the village was alternatively known as Holice , the original name Ekleinsdorf later became extinct.

Jan von Sternberg , who had acquired part of the Chvojno estate with the fortress Chvojenec and the villages of Ředice, Holice and Ostřetín before 1358 , had his seat in Chvojenec until 1376. During this time the Counts von Sternberg had a new fortress built in the lower part of Holice, which became the seat of their Holický ze Šternberka . The town of Nové Holice, to which the old village was assigned, was probably created during the festival. In 1481 Neptalim von Frymburg acquired the rule of Holitz; after his death in 1493 it fell to Hynek Bradlecký von Mečkov. In 1507 Bradlecký sold the Holitz reign with the fortress and the farm, the town and village of Holice, and the villages of Chvojenec, Ředice and Ostřetín to Wilhelm von Pernstein , who united them with his Pardubice reign . Wilhelm von Pernstein bequeathed his Bohemian goods to his younger son Vojtěch in 1521 , after his death they passed to his brother Johann in 1534 . In 1548 he left his son Jaroslav in high debt. On March 21, 1560 Jaroslav von Pernstein sold the entire rule of Pardubitz to King Ferdinand I. His successor Maximilian II transferred the administration of the royal lords to the court chamber . During the Seven Years' War Staré Holice was burned down by Prussian troops in July 1758 during the battle near Holitz.

In 1835 the village of Alt-Holitz , located in the Chrudim district , formed a district of the kk camera and protection town of Holitz and was subordinate to the Holitz city authorities. The parish was Holitz. Until the middle of the 19th century, Alt-Holitz remained subject to the Imperial and Royal cameramen of Pardubitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Staré Holice formed from 1849 a district of the city of Holice in the judicial district of Holitz . From 1868 the village was called Holické Předměstí and belonged to the political district of Pardubice . In 1869 Holické Předměstí had 1607 inhabitants and consisted of 295 houses. In 1899, traffic on the Moravany – Borohrádek railway was started, and the Alt Holitz railway station was built on the hill northeast of the village. In 1900 there were 1871 people in Staré Holice, in 1910 there were 2051. At that time, Staré Holice was no longer a district. In 1930 the village had 1907 inhabitants. In 1949 Staré Holice was assigned to Okres Holice, since 1960 the place has belonged again to Okres Pardubice . Since March 1, 1980, Staré Holice has again the status of a district. In the 2001 census, there were 1,142 people in the 406 houses in Staré Holice.
