The Na Hradcích is a wooded hill in the East Bohemian tablet country in the Czech Republic . It rises three and a half kilometers east of Holice on the cadastre of Ostřetín .
geography
The Na Hradcích is located between Holice, Ostřetín, Veliny and Horní Jelení in the East Bohemian Table Country. The Zadní Lodrantka rises to the southeast. On the hill there are the remnants of a circular rampart with a deep moat on a step of land that protrudes to the west, which is called Věžiště.
history
According to old records, there was a Velký Hradec fortification on Věžiště , and it is not known whether it was used as a hunting castle or a fortress. Nothing is known about their owners and the time of their construction and demise.
The hill is one of the possible locations of the extinct Hostin Hradec castle , where the Přemyslid duke Soběslav I died in 1140 . The underlying theory, in contrast to most of the others who localize the castle in or around Hostinné , assumes that the prince fell ill on his Chvojna court. This is believed to be in Vysoké Chvojno . Based on this, it is assumed that the Hostin Hradec Castle, where the terminally ill prince had his sick bed, must have been not far from his Chvojna court.
Legends
According to local legends, the Velký Hradec castle stood on the hill , which is said to have been the seat of the Velinger knights and locators of Veliny.
According to another legend, the castle on Na Hradcích is said to have been connected to Horní Jelení through an underground passage .
August Sedláček brought Na Hradcích into connection with a fortress in Hrošovice , but there is no written evidence of its existence.
