Podhráz (German Podhras , also Podhraz ) is a district of the city of Holice in the Czech Republic . It is located immediately west of Holice and belongs to the Okres Pardubice .

geography

Podhráz is located in the Pardubická kotlina ( Pardubice Basin ). The settlement lies below the confluence of the stream Poběžovický potok on both sides of the Ředický potok and forms the eastern continuation of the village Horní Ředice . To the northeast rises the Homole (264 m nm), in the southwest of the Chvalák (263 m nm). The state road I / 35 / E 442 runs east of Podhráz between Hradec Králové and Holice, and south the state road I / 36 between Sezemice and Holice.

Neighboring towns are Vysoké Chvojno , Hluboký and Podlesí in the north, Pod Homolí in the northeast, Holice in the east, Roveňsko in the south, Komárov, Lány u Dašic , Velké Koloděje and Kladina in the southwest, Horní Ředice in the west and Chvojenec in the northwest.

history

The Podhraz mill, located below the dam of the Holitzer pond, was first mentioned in writing in 1789.

In 1835, the in consisted Chrudim District monolayer location Podhraz of a two-speed mill and was after Holitz konskribiert. The parish was Holitz. A settlement was established around the mill in the course of the strong growth of the Ředice municipality. Until the middle of the 19th century Podhraz remained subordinate to the kk camera rule Pardubitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Podhráz formed from 1849 a district of the city of Holice in the judicial district of Holitz . From 1868 the settlement belonged to the political district of Pardubitz . In 1869 Podhráz already had 212 inhabitants and consisted of 48 houses. The Holitzer pond was drained in the second half of the 19th century. At the end of the 19th century the settlement was called Podhráze . In 1900 there were 263 people in Podhráz, in 1910 there were 259. In 1930 the village had 222 inhabitants. In 1949 Podhráz was assigned to the Okres Holice, since 1960 the place has belonged again to the Okres Pardubice . At the 2001 census there were 146 people living in the 55 houses in Podhráz.
