history

The village was first mentioned in writing around 1086 as the property of the Opatowitz Benedictine monastery . After the monastery was plundered and burned down by a Hussite army under Diviš Bořek von Miletínek in 1421 , the latter took possession of the extensive possessions. In 1436 King Sigismund signed over large parts of the former monastery property as a reward for his faithful service in the Battle of Lipan for 4,500 Czech groschen to Diviš Bořek, who formed the Pardubice estate with its seat on the Kunburg . In 1437 Diviš 'son Soběslav Mrzák von Miletínek inherited the rule, in 1464 it was acquired by King George of Podiebrad from the over-indebted von Miletínek family. On April 5, 1465, Georg von Podiebrad handed over the rule to his sons Viktorin , Heinrich d. Ä. and Hynek von Münsterberg , who pledged Sopřeč to Mikuláš von Holohlavy. In 1490 Wilhelm von Pernstein acquired the village and reunited it with the Pardubitz rule. In 1521 Wilhelm von Pernstein bequeathed his Bohemian goods to his younger son Vojtěch , after his death in 1534 they fell to his brother Johann . In 1548 he left his son Jaroslav in high debt. On March 21, 1560 Jaroslav von Pernstein sold the entire rule of Pardubitz to King Ferdinand I. His successor Maximilian II transferred the administration of the royal lords to the court chamber . This let the reign of Pardubitz reorganize through a system of 24 Rychta ( Scholtiseien ). In 1588 the Rychtář in Břehy exercised the lower jurisdiction for Břehy, Sopřeč, Žáravice , Vlčí Habřina , Lohenice, Mělice and Semín .

The village was devastated during the Thirty Years War. 1651 are recorded in the soul lists for Sopřeč and Žáravice 18 families with 45 people. Both villages were combined in official documents until the middle of the 18th century. In the second half of the 18th century, Sopřeč received its own Rychtář - supported by two scoops. During this time the village was greatly enlarged, the new houses were mainly built in the north on the road to Žáravice and Velký Sušinský rybník. In 1814 a village smithy was established.

In 1835 the village of Sopertsch or Soprč , located in the Chrudim district , consisted of 50 houses in which 401 people lived, including three Protestant and two Jewish families. The parish was Biela , but the residents went to the nearby church of Wapno and also sent their children to school in Wapno. The Sopertsch pond was known for its large number of pale ducks , which were a main subject of hunting in autumn. Until the middle of the 19th century, Sopertsch remained subject to the Imperial and Royal Chamber of Commerce Pardubitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Soprč formed from 1849 with the district Žáravice a municipality in the judicial district of Přelauč . Emperor Franz Joseph I pledged the kk camera rule Pardubitz in 1855 as a government bond to the Oesterreichische Nationalbank , which sold the rule on June 25, 1863 to the kk privileged Österreichische Credit-Anstalt für Handel und Gewerbe. In 1866 the industrialist Heinrich Drasche bought the manor of Pardubitz. From 1868 the village belonged to the Pardubice district . In 1869 Soprč had 439 inhabitants and consisted of 58 houses. Žáravice broke up in the 1870s and formed its own municipality. In May 1879 the volunteer fire brigade was founded. On June 18, 1881 Richard von Drasche-Wartinberg bought the manors of Pardubitz and Kunětická Hora for 2,080,000 guilders from his father's inheritance. At that time, the population of Soprč consisted of 438 Catholics, 66 Protestants and 14 Jews. The district road between Břehy and Soprč was built between 1887 and 1889 . The Malý Sušinský rybník and Velký Sušinský rybník ponds were drained and turned into arable land at the end of the 19th century. In 1900 there were 471 people in Soprč, compared to 530 in 1910. In 1910 a cement and cement goods factory was established. After the establishment of Czechoslovakia , in the course of the land reform of 1920, the large estates of the Drasche-Wartinberg family were confiscated and divided up. At the beginning of the 1920s the village was electrified. The place name Sopřeč has been used since 1924 . In 1930 the community had 512 inhabitants. On the occasion of the 80th birthday of President TG Masaryk , the community council decided to build a community hall, which was officially opened in May 1932 as the Masaryk House .
