Valerio Laspro

Valerio Laspro (born July 22, 1827 in Balvano , † November 22, 1914 in Salerno ) was an Italian bishop .

Life

He was the son of Emmanuele Laspro and his wife Camilla De Robertis. He was ordained a priest on March 16, 1850.

Valerio Laspro was appointed Bishop of Gallipoli on March 23, 1860 . He received his episcopal consecration on March 25th of the same year in the Roman Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere by the Cardinal Bishop of Frascati , Antonio Maria Cardinal Cagiano de Azevedo ; Co- consecrators were Archbishop Antonio Ligi-Bussi OFMConv and Felicissimo Salvini , Archbishop of Camerino . He was a participant in the First Vatican Council . On May 6, 1872 he was appointed Bishop of Lecce and on March 20, 1877 he was raised to Archbishop of Salerno .

Valerio Laspro died after 54 years in the episcopate.
