The diocese of Frascati ( Latin Dioecesis Tusculana , Italian Diocesi di Frascati ) is a suburbicarian diocese and as such belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Rome .

The diocese , based in Frascati , was founded in the 3rd century in the south of Rome . Today it covers an area in the south and south-east of Rome, which includes the places Frascati, Colonna , Grottaferrata , Monte Compatri , Monte Porzio Catone , Rocca di Papa , Rocca Priora and about 18.5 square kilometers of the Italian capital. The Latin name is derived from the villa town of Tusculum .
