Church region of Latium
The church Lazio (ital. Regione Lazio ecclesiastica ) is one of the 16 church regions of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy . It has a special position among the Italian ecclesiastical regions, since the diocese of Rome is also the seat of the Pope . The ecclesiastical region of Lazio includes only one ecclesiastical province , with the diocese of Rome as the metropolitan seat and its seven suburbicarian dioceses . In addition, 13 other particular churches that do not belong to any church province.
Territorially, the church region of Lazio corresponds to the Italian region of Lazio .
