The Roman Catholic Diocese of Tivoli ( lat. Dioecesis Tiburtina , ital. Diocese of Tivoli ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Tivoli .

history

The diocese of Tivoli was established in the 2nd century and directly subordinate to the Holy See . In 2002 part of the territory of the Territorial Abbey of Subiaco was annexed to the Diocese of Tivoli .

On February 19, 2019, Pope Francis decreed the union of the Diocese of Tivoli in persona episcopi with the Diocese of Palestrina . The previous Bishop of Tivoli and Apostolic Administrator of Palestrina, Mauro Parmeggiani , became bishop of the dioceses thus united .
