The diocese of Rieti (Latin Dioecesis Reatina , Italian Diocesi di Rieti ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Rieti, Italy . The diocese of Rieti was established in the 5th century and placed directly under the Holy See . In 1309 the diocese of Rieti gave up parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Città Ducale .
