The diocese of Civitavecchia-Tarquinia ( Latin Dioecesis Centumcellarum-Tarquiniensis , Italian Diocese of Civitavecchia-Tarquinia ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Civitavecchia .

history

On December 5, 1435, the diocese Corneto Tarquinia was established by Pope Eugene IV with the papal bull In supremae dignitatis and placed directly under the Holy See . The diocese of Civitavecchia was affiliated to this on June 14, 1854 .

On September 30, 1986, the Diocese of Tarquinia and Civitaveccia was renamed the Diocese of Civitavecchia-Tarquinia by the Congregation for the Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis .
