history

Finds of prehistoric graves prove an early settlement of the area.

In the Middle Ages, Choteč was divided between different owners. The place name is derived from a person called Chodec . The village was first mentioned in writing in 1394 when Čeněk von Chodeč sold his property to the Sezemice Cistercian abbey . In 1407 the monastery also acquired the share of Martin of Chodec. After the destruction of the monastery by the Hussites in 1421, Diviš Bořek von Miletínek seized the monastic part of Choteč and gave it to his rule Kunburg . After the fall of the Kunburg lordship, Choteč was pledged to Brikcích von Libanice in 1490. At the end of the 15th century Wilhelm von Pernstein acquired the dominions of Pardubitz and Kunburg and united them. He had the Labská pond built in the vicinity of the village. Wilhelm von Pernstein bequeathed his Bohemian goods to his younger son Vojtěch in 1521 , after his death they passed to his brother Johann in 1534 . In 1548 he left his son Jaroslav in high debt.

The other part was owned by the Vladiken Slepotický from Sulice in the middle of the 16th century . Markvart Slepotický von Sulice received the goods Bezděkov , Vejvanovice , Časy , Dvakačovice , Choteč and Třtí when his father's inheritance was divided in 1548 ; In 1551 he sold Choteč and Časy to Jaroslav von Pernstein. On March 21, 1560 Jaroslav von Pernstein sold the entire rule of Pardubitz to King Ferdinand I. His successor Maximilian II transferred the administration of the royal lords to the court chamber . At the end of the 16th century, 16 properties were listed in the land register for Choteč. The children were taught in Sezemitz until the end of the 18th century , after which a wooden schoolhouse was built in Choteč. In 1807 a fire broke out at Leindörren and the school burned down. The lessons were then held in various private homes.

In 1835 the village of Chotsch , located in the Chrudim district , consisted of 34 houses in which 210 people, including a Protestant family, lived. The parish was in Sezemitz. In 1837 a new school building was built. Until the middle of the 19th century, Chotsch remained subordinate to the kk camera rule Pardubitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Choteč formed a municipality in the judicial district of Pardubice from 1849 . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district of Pardubice . In 1869 Choteč had 259 inhabitants and consisted of 41 houses. Due to the inadequacy of the old school, a new school building was built on the outskirts between 1881 and 1882, in which the children from Časy were also taught; In 1885 the two-class teaching was started. In 1900 there were 330 people in the village, compared to 314 in 1910. In 1930 Choteč had 317 inhabitants. In 1949 Choteč was assigned to the Okres Holice. Since 1960 the community has belonged again to Okres Pardubice . Between 1961 and 1990 Časy was incorporated. The school was closed in 1973 and the children were retrained to Sezemice. In the 2001 census, there were 274 people in the 92 houses in Choteč. Since 2001 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner.
