As Blood Runs Black was an American deathcore band from Los Angeles , California that formed in 2003.

To date, the band has released two albums, Allegience and Instinct , with the latter reaching number 111 on the Billboard 200 . Between June and September 2013, the band began to use crowdfunding via the Indiegogo platform to collect money for a third studio album, which will be titled Ground Zero . On August 11, 2014 the breakup of the band was announced.

As Blood Runs Black stood in the interval through Mediaskare Records under contract, where in 2006 her debut album , Allegiance appeared. The great success of the album made them one of the most famous deathcore bands.

In the years that followed, the group toured the world excessively. Between June 1, 2007 and July 8, 2007, they played on the Summer Slaughter Tour through the United States and Canada , accompanied by bands such as The Faceless , Necrophagist , Decapitated and Cephalic Carnage . Before that, the group played on the BrutaliTour in April and May as the opening act for Beneath the Massacre and Animosity . Suicide Silence and Bury Your Dead could also be seen on individual shows . In early 2008 they played the Farewell to Allegiance Tour with Walls of Jericho and Born of Osiris . In April and May 2008 the group was part of the Metal for the Masses tour alongside Stick to Your Guns , Winds of Plague and Veil of Maya . In October and November 2009 the group played for the first time as part of the Impericon Never Say Die! Tour of Europe. The group was there with The Ghost Inside , Architects , Horse the Band , Iwrestledabearonce , Oceano and Despised Icon . Two years later, in 2011, the group played again on the Never Say Die! Tour, this time with bands like Emmure , Suicide Silence, Vanna , Deez Nuts , The Word Alive and The Human Abstract . The group replaced Oceano, which could not take the 2011 tour.

The group often struggled with line-up changes in their musical career. So singer Chris Blair was replaced by Ken Maxwell in January 2010, who was replaced a short time later by Sonik Garcia.

On March 15, 2011, their second studio album , Instinct , was released through Mediaskare Records . After that they toured permanently through North America and Europe . In March 2012 the band played concerts with War from a Harlots Mouth and Thy Art Is Murder in the United Kingdom , Germany , Belgium , the Czech Republic , Italy , Austria and the Netherlands . In the meantime, the record deal was dissolved due to a dispute between the band and Mediaskare Records. So the production of their third album had to be crowdfunded . The release was originally announced for 2013, but the date has been postponed again and again.

In August 2014, the group announced it was breaking up. At the time, it was unclear whether the album would ever be released. The group later found a new label in StandBy Records , which should release the album Ground Zero in October 2014. The group is also playing a farewell tour through North America with Rings of Saturn , Upon This Dawning and Those Who Fear .
