Animosity (in English: hostility) was an American deathcore band from San Francisco , California .

history

Founded in 2000, Animosity released their first studio album Shut It Down three years later - when the band members were only 16 and 17 years old at the time .

In 2005 the second album Empires was released on Metal Blade Records and the band toured the US with Origin and Malevolent Creation .

The third studio album Animal was produced by Kurt Ballou, guitarist of Converge , and was released in October 2007. Shortly afterwards the band toured u. a. with Converge through Europe.

In spring 2008, Navene Koperweis (drums) left the band to "take a break". On the following tour he was replaced by Bret Batdorf. In June 2008, however, Koperweis returned to the band.

Because of their long existence, Animosity counted alongside bands such as All Shall Perish , Job for a Cowboy and Burning Skies to the co-founders and forefathers of deathcore, as well as to the most influential bands of this genre.

About the breakup in October 2009, singer Leo Miller said that the band had not recently been in the rehearsal room together or recorded new songs.

style

The musical style of the band is assigned to technical deathcore, and the high level of skill of the band members can be seen on their instruments.
