Oceano is an American deathcore - band from Chicago , which was founded in the year of 2006.

history

The band was formed in 2006. In the early days, the band played a few concerts, with the line-up changing frequently. In the following year, the cast then consolidated. In 2007 and the following year, the band released a demo each. As a result, and by playing concerts, the band reached a contract with Earache Records in 2008 .

In the same year the band shot photos of themselves depicting them as bloodied butchers who want to slaughter women. However, the pictures had to be deleted from your Myspace page, as they were viewed as "sexist" and "too glorifying of violence". In 2008, their debut album, Depths, was recorded at The Foundation Studios in Connersville , Indiana . The producer was Joey Sturgis ( The Devil Wears Prada ).

After the release, appearances followed with Hatebreed , Suffocation , Suicide Silence , Emmure , Winds of Plague and Whitechapel .

In 2010, the second album called Contagion was released through Earache Records.

In January 2012 the rumor spread that the band would split up due to the fatherhood of singer Warren. The band's last appearance was to take place at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival . Earache Records made it clear, however, that the band was just taking a break. In April 2012, the band announced that they had not split up, kept their line-up and that another album would be released in 2013.

style

On their Myspace page, the band lists other groups such as Behemoth and The Acacia Strain as their main influences. The band plays technically demanding Deathcore, with most of them having a slow, deep sound and fast passages taking a back seat.
