Beneath the Massacre is a Canadian technical death metal band from Montreal , Québec .
history
Beneath the Massacre was founded in 2004 by Elliot Desgagnés (vocals). A little later, the two guitarists Christopher Bradley and Christian Pepin, bassist Dennis Bradley and drummer Justin Rousselle joined them.
After the EP Evidence of Inequity was released in May 2005 via Galy Records , guitarist Christian Pepin left the band. Since he left the band only one guitarist has played.
Beneath the Massacre signed to Prosthetic Records in May 2006 and began recording their debut album Mechanics of Dysfunction a month later , which was released in February 2007. In the spring of 2007 a tour with Animosity and As Blood Runs Black followed and in the summer the band was with u. a. Cephalic Carnage and Necrophagist on the Summer Slaughter Tour .
The second studio album Dystopia was recorded in Québec and released in October 2008.
In April and May 2009 the band was u. a. with Darkest Hour and Bleeding Through on the Thrash and Burn European Tour 2009 . In April, Beneath the Massacre were nominated by Metal Hammer for the title of Best Underground Band, but Behemoth won .
In November 2019, the group announced that they wanted to release their new album Fearmonger in 2020. The band signed a record deal with the German metal label Century Media . The group will play their first tour in seven years between November and December 2019.
style
Beneath the Massacre play fast Technical Death Metal , which is partly influenced by Grindcore , Hardcore and Brutal Death Metal . The fast blast beats and the guttural singing of Elliot Desgagnés are very characteristic of the band's music .
