Deez Nuts is an Australian hardcore - band with strong rap - and light metal influences from Melbourne . It was founded in 2007. The current line-up consists of singer and front man JJ Peters , guitarist RealBad, bassist Sean Kennedy and drummer Alex Salinger.
history
The band was formed in 2007 after the breakup of I Killed the Prom Queen by JJ Peters , who was the drummer of this band, and recorded the demo album Deez Nuts 2007 Demo after composing the first songs . Several successful appearances followed around Melbourne, whereupon the band decided to bring out a full album, which was titled Rep Your Hood .
January 2008 the band took part in the Boys of Summer Tour alongside other greats from the Australian hardcore scene, in which the Deez Nuts gained more and more attention. Shortly thereafter, JJ Peters began again to write songs for the next album, although he was only temporarily restricted by participating in the Say Goodbye Tour of his mother band I Killed the Prom Queen. In August 2008, the album Stay True was recorded. After a tour through Australia in September and a European tour in October - the album was released in Australia on October 4, 2008 - the Stay True Tour followed , which took place from January to February 2009. This was followed by other shows in England and the USA, as well as many other tours in Australia, often with other bands from different countries. In the time between all tours, JJ Peters formed a hip-hop / rap formation called Grips & Tonic with the New Zealand rapper Louie Knuxx in June 2008 , which released the very successful album Want Some, Get Some .
On May 21, 2010, Deez Nuts released the album This One's for You , recorded in April . JJ Peters announced that it only took him two weeks to compose the songs. It also debuted at number 44 on the Australian charts, where it stayed for a week.
In April 2014, the previous bassist Jon Green left the band for personal reasons, whereupon he was replaced by the former founding member Sean Kennedy, who returned to the band.
