Born of Osiris (also known under the abbreviation BoO ) is an American deathcore band from Palatine . The band initially played under the name DiminisheD, but then changed its name to YourHeartEngraved. The band then changed their name to Rosecrance until they finally called themselves Born of Osiris after they signed a record deal with Sumerian Records . The idea for the name came from the Egyptian god Osiris .
history
In 2003 the band was founded under the name DiminisheD in Palatine . In the same year her first self-titled demo DiminisheD , as well as the demo Your Heart Engraved These Messages appeared . A year later, the band released their demo Youm Wara Youm after they had already renamed themselves YourHeartEngraved.
In 2005 the band released a self-titled demo, then called Rosecrance. In 2007 the band achieved their breakthrough with the demo Narnia after the record label Sumerian Records became aware of the band. After the band signed a record deal, they called themselves Born of Osiris.
On October 2, 2007, the band then released their EP The New Reign , which was produced with the help of Michael Keene of The Faceless . They then toured the US with bands such as Winds of Plague , Veil of Maya and Beneath the Massacre . In the summer of 2008 the band took part in the Summer Slaughter Tour through Great Britain , where they played alongside Suicide Silence and As Blood Runs Black .
On July 7, 2009, the debut album was released under the name A Higher Place , with the band at number 73 on the Billboard 200 . On March 22, 2011, the successor The Discovery was released.
In early 2012, Born of Osiris announced on their Facebook page that they had split up with Jason Richardson, and announced a new album, which should be released in the summer or fall of the same year.
On February 24, 2017, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the band as Born of Osiris, the new edition of their first EP was released under the name The Eternal Reign .
