The Bochtenbeck is a 1.4 km long orographically right tributary of the Ruhr in the North Rhine-Westphalian Niedersfeld , a district of Winterberg , Germany .

geography

The stream rises on the southwest flank of the mountain Auf dem Sternrodt at an altitude of 753  m above sea level. NHN . The source is about 1.4 km north-northeast of Niedersfeld. Initially flowing in south-westerly directions, the course turns more westerly after about half of the river's stretch. Immediately after crossing under the federal highway 480 , the Bochtenbeck empties at 505  m above sea level. NHN in the Ruhr. With a height difference of 248 m, the mean bed slope is 177 ‰.

The superficial catchment area is about 53.4 hectares and only extends around 200 m on both sides of the stream. It is drained to the North Sea via the Ruhr and Rhine .
