The Abbabach is a 17.1 km long orographic left tributary of the Ruhr in the North Rhine-Westphalian Märkische Kreis . The course of the stream is predominantly located in the Abbabach (Menden) and Abbabach (Iserlohn) nature reserve .

The Abbabach rises in the Hemeraner urban area west of the Tannenkopf at an altitude of 295 m above sea level. NHN .
From here the stream flows in a winding direction, mainly in a north-north-westerly direction. It flows through the village of Landhausen and several smaller hamlets.
Between Fröndenberg - Dellwig in the northeast and Iserlohn-Drüpplingsen in the south, the stream flows out at 114 m above sea level. NHN on the left into the Ruhr.
On its 17.1 km long path through Hemer and Iserlohn , the Abbabach overcomes a difference in altitude of 181 m, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 10.6 ‰.
Catchment area
The 21,983 km² catchment area of the Abbabach is located in Lower Sauerland and is drained through it via the Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the east to the catchment area of the Hönne , which flows into the Ruhr
- in the southeast to that of the Hönne tributary Öse
- to the southwest of the Caller Bach , which in the Baarbach opens
- and in the west to that of the Baarbach itself, which flows into the Ruhr

The largest tributary of the Abbabach is the 3.4 km long Dahlhauser Bach .
