The Baarbach is a 17.6 km long orographic left tributary of the Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . Above the center of Iserlohn , the river Lägerbach is called.
geography
course
The Baarbach rises as a "Läger" in the heights of the Iserlohn city forest south of the city center. In the area of Iserlohn's old town it is piped underground and appears again on the surface north of the city center in the area of the districts of Nussberg and Iserlohnerheide as "Baarbach". Due to the geographical conditions, almost all of Iserlohn's wastewater in the Baarbachtal is channeled northwards before it is clarified shortly before it enters the Ruhr.

Renaturation
In 2010, a feasibility study was carried out on the disclosure and ecological improvement of the Baarbach for parts of the inner city of Iserlohn. In the city center of Iserlohn, the Baarbach had gradually been piped since the middle of the 18th century, so that at the beginning of the 20th century only an approx. 25 m long paved open section remained between the streets Lohkamp and Kluse.
