The Assmecke (also spelled Aßmecke ) near Assinghausen in the Hochsauerlandkreis , North Rhine-Westphalia , is a 1.1 km long orographic right and eastern tributary of the Ruhr .
geography
The Assmecke rises in the northern part of the Rothaargebirge about 1.2 km west of Bruchhausen , a south-southeastern part of Olsberg . Its source is on the saddle between Iberg ( 596.3 m ) in the south and Heidkopf ( 715.3 m ) in the north in the district of the southern Olsberg district of Assinghausen at an altitude of 483 m above sea level. Mostly flowing in a westerly direction, the Assmecke crosses under the federal highway 480 and flows a little later, about 1 km north of Assinghausen, at an altitude of 371 m into the Rhine tributary Ruhr .
Bed slope and catchment area
With a height difference of around 97 m, the mean bed slope is around 88.1 ‰. The catchment area of around 76.6 hectares is drained to the North Sea via the Ruhr and Rhine .
