The Berkelbach is a 1.9 km long orographically left tributary of the Ruhr in Winterberg , North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

geography

The Berkelbach rises about 1.3 km north of Winterberg on the eastern flank of the southern summit of the Vorderen Kuhlenberg at an altitude of 690  m above sea level. NHN . The stream flows mainly in northerly directions through an uninhabited valley, only accompanied by a farm road on the right side of the stream. After about half of its way, the Berkelbach is dammed by a pond. After a river stretch of 1.9 km, the stream flows out at 607  m above sea level. NHN on the left into the Ruhr . The mouth is about 2.7 km north of Winterberg.

With a height difference of 83 m, the mean bed slope is 43.7 ‰. The 1.446 km² catchment area is drained via the Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.
