The Distelbach is an approximately one kilometer long, southwest and left tributary of the Ruhr in Essen .

The Thistle creek rises between the Essenes districts Fischlaken and Kupferdreh in the conservation area - Fish Laker Mark at an altitude of 107.5  meters above sea level. NHN in a field on Hammer Strasse near Margrefstrasse .

The stream initially flows almost two hundred meters through farmland in an east-northeastern direction, then runs through a deciduous forest and finally flows west of the Dilldorf farmers at an altitude of 53.4  m above sea level. NHN from the left into the Ruhr dammed there to the Baldeneysee .

Its approximately 1.0 km long run ends approximately 54 meters below the source, so it has a mean bed gradient of approximately 54 ‰.

It borders
