The corner of the umbrella near and in Assinghausen in the Hochsauerlandkreis , North Rhine-Westphalia , is an approximately 2 km long orographically right tributary of the Ruhr .

course

The umbrella corner rises in the northern part of the Rothaargebirge about 1.3 km southeast of Assinghausen , a southern district of Olsberg . Its source is west of the saddle between Schurenstein ( 650  m ) in the south and Iberg ( 596.3  m ) in the north at an altitude of almost 530  m above sea level. NHN .

First the corner of the umbrella flows in a south-westerly direction, then turns in a wide arc to the north and reaches Assinghausen. In the village, the stream is largely piped. In the north of the village, the umbrella corner comes to the surface again and crosses under Grimmestrasse .

After crossing under the federal highway 480 ( called Unterm Enschede there) the corner of the umbrella flows into the Rhine- tributary river Ruhr at a height of about 384  m .

Bed slope and catchment area

With a height difference of around 146 m, the mean bed slope is around 73 ‰. The 2.366 km² catchment area is drained to the North Sea via the Ruhr and Rhine .
