The stream rises about 1.2 km west of the Verlberter district Langenhorst at an altitude of 150 m above sea level. NN . From here, flowing mainly in a westerly direction, the stream flows into Schloss Oefte at 44 m above sea level. NN in the Ruhr .
The Oefter Bach overcomes a height difference of 106 m on its 4.8 km long path, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 22.1 ‰.
Catchment area
The 11.21 km² catchment area of the Oefter Bach is drained through it via the Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the northeast to the catchment area of the Pfefferbach , which flows into the Ruhr;
