The Wannebach is an 8.7 km long orographically right tributary of the Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .
geography
The stream rises in the west of the Dortmund district of Syburg on Landesstraße 704 at an altitude of 229 m above sea level. NN . From there, the Wannebach initially flows in a north-easterly direction in the nature reserve Fürstenbergholz and Wannebachtal north past Syburg and Buchholz. After crossing under the federal highway 45 , the stream turns in a wide arc to the south-southeast. In doing so, it flows south past Holzen and crosses under Federal Motorway 1 . At the same time the brook leaves the urban area of Dortmund in the direction of Schwerte .
In the urban area of Schwerte, the Wannebach flows mainly in south-south-east directions. Until it flows into the Ruhr, it forms the boundary between the districts of Westhofen and Wandhofen . To the north-east of Westhofen, the nature reserve Wannebachtal flows through, which the stream leaves in the south when it crosses under the Hagen – Hamm railway line . After a further 200 m flow, the stream again crosses under the A 45 and flows past the Rettelmühle . After crossing under the L673, the Wannebach flows past Haus Ruhr and flows into the Ruhr on the right. The mouth is about 1.2 km southeast of Westhofen at an altitude of 101 m above sea level. NN .
The brook drains a 16.394 km² catchment area via the Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea . With a height difference of 128 m, the mean bed slope is 14.7 ‰.
