The Selmkebach or Ender Bach is a flowing body of water in Herdecke . It flows into the Ruhr on the right-hand side to the west of Wetter (Ruhr) .

Its sources are located south of the Herdecke community hospital in Herdecke-Westende, from there it flows southwest along the Ender Talstraße . It separates the forest areas Im Schuppling in the west and Auf dem Heil in the east. It crosses under the federal road 226 at Voßkuhle and then flows along the federal road 226 towards Witten and into the Ruhr at the driveway to Haus Mallinckrodt .

In 2001 the upper course ( Epirhithral ) and the middle course (Metarhithral) of the Selmke brook were classified in water quality class I / II, the lower course in quality class II and II / III.
