The Wimberbach (lower course: Mühlenbach ) is an 8.259 km long, orographically left tributary of the Ruhr in the North Rhine-Westphalian Wickede (Ruhr) . The brook rises on the mountain Ziegenbusch northwest of Oesbern at an altitude of 260  m above sea level. NN and flows in a northerly direction through the Wicked district of Wimbern to Wickede at 132  m above sea level. NN in the Ruhr.

The river section name about 1 km before it flows into the Ruhr is called Mühlenbach , so that on the topographical maps the Wimberbach flows into the Mühlenbach and this then flows into the Ruhr. In the NRW water registers, the main name of the water body is the Wimberbach up to its confluence with the Ruhr.

The stream overcomes a height difference of 128 m on its way, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 15.5 ‰ over a length of 8.259 km. The brook drains over the Ruhr and the Rhine to the North Sea .

In the course of closing the gap in the A 46 motorway between Hemer and Neheim , which is planned for 2023, an approximately 300-meter-long bridge is to be built over the river.
